What is the Recco system? An avalanche rescue system that allows victims to be located using radar.



It consists of two parts: the radar detector that the rescue groups have; and on the other hand, the passive reflectors that do not emit a signal and are incorporated in some anoraks, trousers, helmets and even boots.



The reflector consists of a small electronic transponder weighing just four grams with a thin copper antenna and a diode that bounces the detector signal and doubles the frequency. It is covered with a protective rubber outer foil that gives it its well-known elongated pill shape. It's practically indestructible. The reflector does not emit a signal and therefore does not require a power source.
